Today is a hard day for me. I just want to stay home and do my own thing. It's sunny, it's spring, and it's May, but I am horribly scared of being set off today by all the motherly stuff that does not pertain to me. This year it's killing me. I want to rise above it and celebrate everyone else, but it's really, really hard.
I will be a mother someday. I will. It's not a question of if, but of when. And the first challenge of motherhood is putting others first before yourself. Today, I will do that. I will celebrate the life of others and not focus on myself. I will smile, hug, congratulate, and honor mothers.
I will have my day. It doesn't have to be today. It will happen another time. But today, I just want to feel warm and sunny, and honor myself quietly as I prepare my body and heart to be someone's mother one day.
